Research Interests
Surface processes research via interferometric synthetic aperture radar and combinations with other types of satellite-based observations. Our group studies a range of deformation processes associated with aquifers and faulting, as well as how our ability to study such signals is impacted by other types of surficial change, such as that due to soil moisture variability or other soil processes. The PI usually meets once a week with each student, combined with weekly group meetings where students give short presentations every other week. Most of our computational work relies on python in a linux environment, but many students do not have much background in those tools when they start.
Proposed Hosting Period
No preference, although may be away in late June/early July
Exchange Language
English, although several students are fluent in Spanish.
Facilities/Resources
We work on servers that the students can remotely log in to, so most students use their own laptop. However, I could set up a workstation in the student lab that could be dedicated to the visitor.
