Research Interests
Field geology, petrography and geochemistry of Mesozoic volcanic and plutonic rocks in Chile. The research group in Chile is conducting an exploratory study that seeks to integrate microstructural analysis and geochemical data with the field observation in order to propose models of magma channeling in subduction zones. The hosting period includes 1 week field trip to study mafic and ultramafic igneous units of Jurassic age, with the aim of identifying melts and aqueous fluids pathways within a small arc crustal section, followed by petrographic work and EMPA measurements. The group in the hosting institution is small but collaboration with colleagues from the Chilean Geological Survey and other university is expected.
