Project Description

Earthquakes and volcanic activity can produce changes on hydrological systems (rivers, groundwater, and hydrothermal activity). By studying the physical and chemical characteristics of fluids, and as well as geological records we can understand the response of different hydrological systems to tectonic and volcanic events and the mechanisms that produces such responses in different time scales.

Proposed Hosting Period

May, June, July, August

Facilities/Resources

Various lab facilities including to analyze water geochemistry and isotopes. Facilities to measure rock LA-ICP-MS, SEM, and RAMAN for minerals and fluid inclusions.

Host Contact

Carolina Muñoz-Saez
