Research Interests

Our group is focused on understanding the subduction processes that occur in Chile. We mainly work with near-field data such as seismograms, accelerograms and GNSS data. We study slow and fast earthquakes, the processes of seismic rupture, as well as the structure through which seismic waves travel. Although our main focus is on earthquakes, we also analyze the dynamic processes of volcanoes, glaciers, and landslides using seismograms and geodetic data.
We are excited to host students or early career scientists motivated to understand the natural phenomena that frequently occur in Chile.

Hosting Period

We have flexibility dates for 2025, we just need to coordinate to try to avoid the vacation weeks that occur during the year.

Facilities & Resources

We are in the Geophysics Department of the University of Chile, which has the appropriate infrastructure to carry out the internship.
