Research Interests

My research is focused on using volcanic cone morphology to understand and interpret eruption styles. I've developed a numerical model of scoria cone eruptions, including ballistic scoria delivery, grainflow-based slope relaxation, and limited lava flow impacts. I continue to use map and GIS tools to acquire new morphological measurements. I'm interested in how understanding the variations of morphology across a volcanic field or a volcanic arc can help interpret past eruption styles and predict future eruption styles.

Proposed Hosting Period

January to March is often my quietest months but nothing is blocked out yet.

Exchange Language

English ( and maybe German in a pinch)

Facilities Resources

Guest accounts to use Rutgers software licenses are possible. The Marine and Coastal Sciences and Earth and Planetary Sciences departments have various equipment but my work is almost entirely computer based.
