Research Interests
Seismic imaging of subduction zones extending from the incoming plate offshore, through the forearc, to the volcanic arc. Targets can be larger, regional scale (e.g., imaging of a specific subduction segment to relate seismic imaging results to along strike variability in earthquake or volcanic processes), or more localized (e.g., imaging of a particular volcano of interest to characterize magmatic storage). Projects improving the usability of offshore seismic data are also of interest. Previous experience focuses primarily on Cascadia and Alaska subduction zones, but would be very open to expand to other settings.
Proposed Hosting Period
1/15/26 - 5/15/26 is preferable.
Exchange Language
English - While I am only fluent in English, we have several Chilean graduate students in our department, including in my research group. While some experience with English would be needed, we could likely figure out an environment that would be welcoming for early career researchers that are less confident in their English.
